—James Potter stands between Lord Voldemort and his family
James Potter (27 March, 1960 – 31 October, 1981), also known as Prongs, was a pure-blood wizard and son of Mr. and Mrs. Potter. He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1971 to1978, and was sorted into Gryffindor house. "Your mother was there for me at a time when no one else was. Not only was she a singularly gifted witch, she was also an uncommonly kind woman. She had a way of seeing the beauty in others even, and perhaps most especially, when that person couldn't see it in themselves."
—Remus Lupin talking to Harry Potter about Lily Potter
Lily Potter (née Evans) (30 January, 1960 – 31 October, 1981) was a Muggle-born witch, the younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evans and the sister of Petunia. She learned that she was a witch as a child, after Severus Snape, a wizard boy who lived nearby, recognised her as a witch and told her of the existence of magic. The two became close friends, but their friendship became strained over the years due to Snape's irrepressible interest in the Dark Arts and his passion in joining the Death Eaters. Lily ended the friendship in their fifth year, after Snape called her a Mudblood. She attendedHogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1971 to 1978 and was sorted into Gryffindor house. A talented student, Lily was a member of the Slug Club and was made Head Girl in her seventh year.

Slughorn: "Fascinating! And, is that considered a dangerous profession?"
— Hermione on her parents.
Dr. Granger (temporarily known as Wendell Wilkins) was a Muggle dentist and the father of Hermione Granger, a Gryffindor student in the same year as Harry Potter at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was the father-in-law of Ron Weasley and the grandfather of Rose and Hugo Weasley.

Mrs. Granger, LDS, (temporarily known as Monica Wilkins) was a Muggle, wife of Mr. Granger, and mother of Hermione. Working as a dentist alongside her husband, she and her family lived in a house somewhere in England.
She and her husband were proud and accepting of their daughter's identity as a witch, which explained some strange things which happened around her when she was a child. They entered the magical world in 1992 to buy Hermione's school supplies, and were assisted by Arthur Weasley. Several years later, however, Hermione was forced to alter her parents' memories and give them new identities as Wendell and Monica Wilkins to protect them from the Death Eaters.
After the Second Wizarding War ended, Hermione found Mrs. Granger and her husband in Australia and returned their memories. They gained grandchildren in Hermione and Ron Weasley's children,Rose and Hugo.
